Whilst Hope Unlimited specializes in helping children and adolescents with mental health, we provide mental health services for everyone, including individuals, couples, and whole family groups.
Play Therapy for Children
We offer therapeutic options for child behavioral therapy Utah with our play therapy, which utilizes the language of play to treat emotional distress. This is one of our most successful therapeutic techniques for helping children overcome mental health issues such as depression and anxiety.
What is Play Therapy?
Unlike adults, children are unable to process their emotions or articulate problems in the way an adult typically would. A child in emotional distress may come across as quiet or withdrawn from others, which is often seen as being shy rather than a response to trauma. On the other end of the spectrum, children who are restless, act out, or throw frequent tantrums may be trying to express unprocessed emotions, which are often seen as attention-seeking behavior.
As a trained play therapist. I use playtime to observe and gain insight into a child’s problems. I help the child explore unprocessed emotions and deal with unresolved trauma through play, giving them the opportunity to express themselves in a fun and safe way.
Family Therapy
At Hope Unlimited, we believe in a holistic approach to healing, which is why we offer family therapy to teach emotional support techniques to the whole family. We provide families with the tools necessary to create a safe environment of emotional stability and support at home that is an integral part of a child’s healing process.
